Not all situations in traffic are day-to-day, special circumstances require special driving accomplishments. Volvo Military Sales offers the opportunity to learn certain behavior patterns under controlled circumstances to realize dangerous situations in traffic, to avoid or accomplish them.

 

     But it is not only a matter of safety and driving experience people gain from the Volvo drive-training, but also a lot of fun and excitement, since the trainings take place on professional, high level racetracks and training centers like Boxberg and Nürburgring.  

 

     The trainers are experienced professionals and training takes place in small groups. The training cars are the latest model year 05 cars of the Volvo range, including the new Volvo S40 and V50, C70 convertible, S60 and S80, as well as the XC70 and XC90 Executive.

Two highly limited training programs are offered:

 

·         August 28: Boxberg Intensive Drive Training:

     The Boxberg intensive training is meant for every driver at any legal driving age. The Boxberg Training Center is fitted with all relevant technical facilities, such as: Dynamic area, aquaplaning basins, irrigation systems as well as ascending and downhill grades, which allow simulations of nearly all emergency situations, and further:

• Slalom exercises to find the right steering and sitting position and to avoid over- and under steering
  

•  Exercises to avoid suddenly appearing objects, as well as brake behavior and much more.

·         November 20: Nürburgring Winter Training:

     Snow and Ice means a challenge for all drivers. With the Volvo Winter Training, people learn to cope typical traffic situations which let drivers surrender each winter. Besides theoretical information concerning special requirements of winter driving, participants also test drive the cars in the following training situations:

•  Braking/ evasion on winter road surfaces in comparison to different surfaces

• Ascending- and downhill grades at different tire grips

• Slalom-/ braking maneuvers on different road surfaces

• Dynamic area with and without handicaps, and much more.

50^th Anniversary of Volvo Convertible – From Legendary P1900 to Volvo C70

Inauguration of Newly Refurbished Volvo Factory Delivery Center in Gothenburg/Sweden

     US Military personnel joining the Volvo Military Sales Program can choose between different delivery options. Besides local delivery closed by the base, customers can pick up their brand-new Volvo at the Factory Delivery Center at the home of Volvo - Gothenburg, including an exciting VIP delivery package. Now, the newly refurbished Factory Delivery Center has opened the doors for the customers.

Volvo: Four Years Warranty – also outside the US for all US Military customers

     At the beginning of the year the Swedish car manufacturer has extended activated guarantee for US specified vehicles also for US Military customers.

      Valid from MY’02, all vehicles with US specification will get the same activated guarantee as in the United States: Four years warranty or 50,000 miles (whatever comes first).

     By this measure, Volvo stresses their customer orientation and belief in the quality of Volvo cars and their production.

     The offer is valid for all US Military customers staying abroad and buying a new Volvo by an official Volvo agent close to their base abroad.
